We have some fun Spring 2017 Painting & Sketch Art Classes at Historic St. Agnes Cemetery scheduled! Join us for relaxing, professionally guided classes at:

The Living Room Art Gallery
Located in Historic St. Agnes Cemetery’s Visitors Center
48 Cemetery Avenue, Menands, New York

Painting Classes: Where Time Stands Still: Celebrating Life through Art in a Victorian Era Cemetery
with artist & art instructor Noreen Powell

Painting Classes include paints (acrylic & oil), brushes, various sized canvas, and delicious baked goods from the famed Schuyler Bakery, gourmet coffees and teas and wonderful,
positive energy. As with all our classes, no experience is necessary. Come, learn, paint, relax!!

Paint Class prices are $25 for an 11 x 14 inch canvas or $20 for an 8 x 10 inch canvas unless noted
otherwise.

Painting Class Schedule:
April 28, 10am-Noon– Red Barn in the Distance
May 12, 10am-Noon– Monet’s Wooden Bridge
May 13, 10am-1pm– Painting in the Style of Edgar Degas (Oil and Acrylics $45)
May 26, 10am-Noon – Daybreak on the Hudson
June 9, 10am-Noon – Renoir’s Rose with Baby’s Breath
June 23, 10am-Noon – Snuggle Doves on a Branch

Sketch Club: Keeping A Nature Journal
with artist & art instructor Carol Coogan

At every moment, wherever you are, you can use a simple sketchbook as a place to record one’s observations of the natural world around you. It might include sketches or drawings, written descriptions or notes, photographs, poems, natural objects such as leaves or flowers, or scientific data such as lists or wildlife tallies. Join Carol Coogan as she lends instruction, support, advice and inspiration to your own nature journal practice. Bring a favorite drawing/writing implement and a sketchbook if you have one, or a sketchbook will be available for purchase: a slim paperback “starter” book for $5, or a 5.5” X 8” hardcovers for $10. Information will be provided on a variety of ways that people use nature sketchbooks and participants can use this class the way they want tot. Class will be geared to the interests and level of each participant.

Class will meet at Historic St. Agnes Cemetery’s Visitor Center, Menands. Comfort facilities available on site.

2017 Sketch Club Schedule

Carol Coogan is an artist, illustrator, designer, writer, instructor, and trained SoulCollage® facilitator. She uses sketchbooks and visual journals regularly as part of the process of development of ideas and designs for her professional work, and also for her own personal creative expression and enjoyment. Carol created the “Backyard Naturalist,” a newspaper feature she wrote and illustrated for the Times Union for 10 years. She also the weekly op-ed artist for the Altamont Enterprise on a weekly basis, and illustrates and designs stationery for Crane & Co. on a freelance basis.
