Albany Diocesan Cemeteries Photography Contest

If we recall correctly, it has been at least six years since we last held our very popular photography contest.  It drew photographers of all ages and skill levels to cemeteries managed by Albany Diocesan Cemeteries to take pictures of things they found interesting to them. It is time to bring this contest back.

Albany Diocesan Cemeteries are very excited to announce our latest Photography Contest is accepting submissions through June 15, 2021!

We’ve extended the submission deadline to June 15, 2021 to give participants 3 additional seasons to photograph, and in hopeful anticipation of being able to hold a gallery exhibit in 2021, featuring contest submissions at The Living Room Art Gallery located at Historic St. Agnes Cemetery. The year 2021 has to be better, right?!?

The contest can be done safely with social distancing – easy to do in any of our cemeteries.  Albany Diocesan Cemeteries has 19 cemeteries located in the Capital District to choose from and all of them feature beautiful nature, statuary, architecture and interesting gravestones and many have spectacular views. We will offer generous prize money and there is no entry fee.

The deadline for submission of entries has been extended to June 15, 2021 which gives contest participants all 4 beautiful seasons to visit our cemeteries and take photos.

Grab your camera or camera phone and visit the peaceful beauty of our sacred grounds.

Contest winners will receive: First place, $300; Second place $150, Third place $75.

Entrants may submit up to TWO (2) original photographs. The photos must be of a subject located in any one of Albany Diocesan Cemeteries 19 cemeteries:

Digital enhancements of your original image is allowed.

Further information including contest rules and a registration form can be downloaded below.
