Albany Diocesan Cemeteries Photography Contest
Thank you to everyone who submitted entries to our 2020-2021 contest. It was wonderful to see so many different perspectives of what you found interesting in our cemeteries. We hope everyone had a great time exploring the peaceful beauty of our sacred grounds, and that you’ll be back, camera in hand!
For our most recent Photography Contest, we opened the contest to original images taken within any of our 19 cemeteries located in the greater Capital District area. All of our cemeteries feature beautiful nature, statuary, architecture and interesting gravestones and many have spectacular views. Digital enhancements of original images was allowed.
The deadline to submit entries, free of charge was extended to June 15, 2021 which gave contest participants the opportunity to capture images during any/all four seasons.
Contest winners were awarded: First place, $300; Second place $150, Third place $75.
Entrants could submit up to 2 original photographs of a subject located in any one of Albany Diocesan Cemeteries 19 cemeteries: https://www.capitaldistrictcemeteries.org/contact-us/cemeteries-and-directions?explore=5008646
Due to Covid safety protocols, it was determined that an online gallery showing would be a great way to showcase all of the contest entries.
