We’ve recently added new cremation niche areas to two of our community mausoleums, St. Agnes mausoleum in Menands and Mary Immaculate, Patroness of America mausoleum at Most Holy Redeemer, Niskayuna. The new areas feature companion and single niches.
With the increased desire for additional options for cremation, these niches offer a beautiful and sacred resting place for individuals and families who wish to be cremated and inurned above ground.
In the St. Agnes community mausoleum, the Padre Pio columbarium has 106 companion and 72 single niches with marble or clear class fronts. The new columbarium is featured near the main entrance, making these niches an impressive focal point for visitors.
In Mary Immaculate, Patroness of America mausoleum in Niskayuna, 23 companion and 10 single glass front niches were installed below the breathtaking 16’ x 18’ stained glass window depicting the Tree of Life with the Risen Christ.
Many people are unsure what to do with the urn containing a loved one. In our cemeteries, marble or granite niches can be memorialized in a number of various and customizable ways, including lettering, portrait emblems and/or lovely bronze emblems. Glass front niches are perfect for displaying decorative memorialized urns and can also include portrait or bronze emblems.
In 2018, two columbariums were installed at St. Anthony’s cemetery in Glenville, one at each front corner of the community mausoleum, featuring black granite side by side and single niches. A carnelian granite front columbarium was also added to Sts. Cyril & Method Cemetery in Rotterdam with true companion and single niches. This columbarium is similar in size and style to the columbarium that was installed a few years ago at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie.
