All Souls’ Day Mass – In Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed

You are invited to celebrate a special livestream and recorded Mass in honor of all the faithful departed this year.

Most Reverend Edward B. Scharfenberger, Celebrant (due to a last minute conflict, Mass was celebrated by Very Reverend Anthony Barratt)

Albany Diocesan Cemeteries generally offers quarterly Memorial Masses in honor of those who were recently interred in our Cemeteries. We invite you to celebrate this special Mass with us from the comfort of your home.

You can view the livestream on November 2nd, or watch a recording of the Mass that will be available through this page for the remainder of the year.

View the Mass here.

Click here to view and download a list of those who have been interred in our 20 Albany Diocesan Cemeteries between March through October of this year.  If you have had a loved one interred in one of the cemeteries managed by Albany Diocesan Cemeteries, we welcome you to download and print the list as a keepsake in remembrance of your loved one.

For all who are struggling with the grief of a loss during the pandemic, please know our hearts go out to you. We know you are experiencing loss and grief in a whole new way. You may or may not have been able to be there in the end for your loved one. You probably did not get the chance to have a wake and funeral mass surrounded by ALL of your friends and family, providing all an open and shared grieving process. Loved ones want to, but may not be able to stop by for coffee and conversation. AND, the world is a frightening place right now.

The Diocese and Albany Diocesan Cemeteries are all well aware of this for the families we serve. We are grieving in part for them, knowing families are experiencing Catholic Funeral Rites in a different way which may affect a healthy natural grieving process.

Albany Diocesan Cemeteries offers online grief support resources that may help those who are grieving and are in need of support.

Please know we are here to help, and our staff are praying for every family we serve.
