Remnants of Christmas Past?

Visitors to our cemeteries sometime ask us why so many weeks after the February 1st Christmas clean-up do they see wreaths and other Christmas decorations still on the grounds. Our field staff does their best to stick to scheduled clean-up dates, but Mother Nature calls the shots! Winter’s frozen grasp on wreath stands and flower vases filled with greenery and holly berries is often stronger than the grasp of our determined crew. As the warm sun climbs higher and stays longer each day, winter must concede to defeat. Our grounds will be cleared of all leftover decorations – we promise.

When Can I Decorate for Spring?

Our spring clean-up is scheduled to begin April 1st. We know our visitors are eager to place colorful flowers in vases and on top of their monuments. It is best to wait until after April 1st to ensure your decorations stay in place until the fall clean-up beginning November 1st.

Is Your Family’s Monument Ready for Spring?

Before placing your spring decorations, consider the condition of your family’s monument. Is it clean? Monuments are exposed to the elements every day. Lichen, mold and pollutants obscure inscriptions and take away from the beauty of the memorial to your loved one. Our in-house monument cleaning service begins in spring and runs through mid-October. We use the best and safest cleaning agents on the market for use on granite, marble and all other types of stone. If you would like your gravestone assessed for cleaning or if you are interested in learning how to clean it yourself, please give Kelly Grimaldi a call at 518-350-7679 or email [email protected].
